VII. Humanitarian action
Haiti
2014 was the final year of implementation of the reconstruction projects co-financed by the Ministry following the violent earthquake of 2010 in Haiti. In effect, at the Donors Conference on 31 March 2010 in New York, Luxembourg had officially announced its intention to support the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in Haiti to the tune of 3 800 000 euros during the 2010-2014 period. Thus, the Luxembourg Red Cross, Fondation Caritas Luxembourg, Objectif Tiers Monde and SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde received support for research projects into solutions for shelter and the reconstruction of houses and schools in the Port-au-Prince region.
