MFA-NGO working group
In 2014, the Ministry and the NGOs met six times to discuss issues of common interest, including the lessons to be learned from the evaluations of NGOs commissioned by the MFA, the preparation for 2015 (Luxemburgish Presidency of the European Council and also the European Year for Development), the Minister’s participation in the High-Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation in Mexico City and the 2014-2016 Action Plan for development effectiveness. This formal dialogue is also intended for humanitarian NGOs and/or NGOs which are not members of the Cercle; therefore, humanitarian issues, such as the next World Humanitarian Summit, were also discussed there. In addition, the final versions of the “Health” and “Environment” strategies were presented to the NGOs.
